The detail in this story fragment is just astounding! When you think about the amount of care and patience it takes to create a 500x500 drawing, I can't believe to imagine how long it would have taken you to complete this. I like that the trees and stars in the background and subtle and not distracting from the magician, but if I look closely I can still see them.

The animation is also done very well and there's nothing fake or choppy about the way the steam is rising/the magician stirring his concoction in the cauldron. The colours add the to 'fairytale' feeling and I love the purple undertones <3

Beautifully done!
The moon in the background looks almost real, and the ground blends together with the tree and the sky nicely. The tree bark is wonderfully textured, and I just love that there is a little door and window on the tree for his home, rather than a simple cottage like most put.
As for the magician itself, the wand animation flows wonderfully; the sparkles around it really add to the "magic"! The couldren with fire is brilliantly animated, too. I can see that there are little tiny details in such a small animation! Plus, it's even better that the glow around the fire flickers.
All in all, very deserving of a DD, I think. I do hope it gets one!
